The Mercantile Marine Office (MMO) is currently open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00. Anybody wishing to call into the office to submit an application, can do so by contacting mmo@transport.gov.ie to make an appointment

We can not accept online applications at present however you may submit an application by email and forward original documents by post if required Application methods

It is in your interest to use registered post. This Department will not accept responsibility for documents lost in the post. Complete your application form as required, remembering to attach all the supporting documents listed on the checklist provided. Post your application together with your payment by bank draft or postal order, made payable to the Superintendent, Mercantile Marine Office, to the Mercantile Marine Office listed below. Alternatively credit and debit card payments can be made by submitting the required information on the payment section of the application form.

Complete your application form as required, remembering to include all the supporting documents listed on the relevant application form. Call in to our public office detailed above with your credit/debit card, bank draft or postal order, made payable to the Superintendent, Mercantile Marine Office, during our public office opening hours:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00
If your application is urgent please contact the Mercantile Marine Office in advance of submitting your application, to find out if your application can be processed earlier than 10 working days.

Incomplete applications may be returned unprocessed, by post. Therefore in order to avoid any undue delay in the processing of your application, please ensure all information/documentation detailed on the application form is submitted.
