GMDSS General Operators Certificate (GOC)

GMDSS GENERAL OPERATORS CERTIFICATE (GOC)

 

Prior to making your application for a GMDSS General Operators Certificate you should ensure that;

 

  • You know your Seafarer ID Number
  • You have successfully completed the training required for a GOC

When you have completed your training at an approved training centre they will notify the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and your certificate will be issued to you.


If you require an STCW Radio Operator Certificate of Competency or endorsement you should ensure that:


  • You have a valid Medical Fitness Certificate
  • You have the following valid certificates or refresher training for:
    • Basic Training Elementary First Aid
    • Basic Training Fire Prevention and Firefighting
    • Basic Training Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
    • Basic Training Personal Survival Techniques 

GMDSS Restricted Operators Certificate (ROC)

GMDSS GENERAL OPERATORS CERTIFICATE (ROC)

 

Prior to making your application for a GMDSS Restricted Operators Certificate you should ensure that;

 

  • You know your Seafarer ID Number
  • You have successfully completed the training required for a ROC

When you have completed your training at an approved training centre they will notify the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and your certificate will be issued to you.

 

If you require an STCW Radio Operator Certificate of Competency or endorsement you should ensure that:

Long Range Operators Certificate (LRC)

LONG RANGE OPERATORS CERTIFICATE (LRC)

 

Prior to making your application for a Long Range Operators Certificate you should ensure that;

 

  • You know your Seafarer ID Number,

  • You have successfully completed the training required for a LRC,

  • You have all other relevant documentation as set out in the application form.

     

    When you have completed your training at an approved training centre they will notify the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and your certificate will be issued to you.

Short Range Operators Certificate (SRC)

SHORT RANGE OPERATORS CERTIFICATE (SRC)

 

Prior to making your application for a Short Range Operators Certificate you should ensure that;

 

  • You know your Seafarer ID Number,

  • You have successfully completed the training required for a SRC,

  • You have all other relevant documentation as set out in the application form.

     

    When you have completed your training at an approved training centre they will notify the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and your certificate will be issued to you.

List of approved Course Providers

A Certificate of Competency (Radio) is issued by the Department of Transport to candidates that have successfully completed a training course for the certificate that they are applying for.  Training for Certificates of Competency (Radio) is provided by a number of approved training centres.
